Mid Weight Designer

Flirt Group has an immediate position for a highly innovative and motivated print / new media designer with proven industry experience to join our highly successful award winning team to work on national and international clients across a range of strategic, creative and technical disciplines.

Position

The position will require the ability to envisage and implement design on a strategic and integrated level across all touch points of the clients brand and business communications. You will manage and deliver high quality solutions such as print, brand development, information architecture, web interface, web/interactive programming and interactive production. You will have a strong ability to understand, communicate, inspire, implement, lead and manage the strategic, creative, technical and planning process with clients and studio staff.

You will posses a broad portfolio of intelligent and innovative design styles, solutions and approaches. You will be highly creative with a passion to educate, lead, and inspire staff and clients.

The successful applicant will be autonomous, a self-starter, with an impeccable attention to detail. The role will offer a large amount of creativity, growth, autonomy and freedom backed by a large and solid support system for the successful applicant.

Skills and responsibilities

• Manage and lead clients and staff throughout our design and production process, from initial workshops and meetings through to planning and production to exceed expectations and meet deadlines.
• Define and develop and produce creative strategies and solutions across traditional print and new media applications for assigned projects. Define and manage creative, planning and functionality briefs and documentation (functionality specs, info architecture, business and competitor analysis.)
• Manage the Flirt Group brand whilst supporting the business development team with specifying opportunities and clarifying solutions.
• Research, develop and test strategic new media technology and process’s , whilst leading, supervising and mentoring problem solving with internal and contract staff.
• Documenting and updating internal processes

Essential Skills

• Understanding of pre press processes
• Good finished art skills
• Good Indesign skills
• Good HTML/Javascript/CSS hand code abilities (XHTML Compliant)
• Good Flash and actionscripting creation and programming skills
• Understanding of Actionscript possibilities
• Understanding of server side scripting knowledge (asp/php)
• Understanding of database knowledge (access/mySQL)
• Good experience in Adobe Creative Suite
• Good experience in Macromedia Suite
• Good prioritising ability
• Good project management understanding
• Good conceptual skills (application of technology in innovative ways)

Experience

• At least 4 years proven experience of web and interactive development
• Bachelors degree in Graphic design or multimedia (or equivalent)
• Previous experience in a mid weight or senior designers role
